Common Sense Tips Can Help You Clean Up Your Skin Problems

January 12th 2012 -

It’s hard to miss all the advertisements for expensive skin care miracles in bottles.

Their job is to convince you to buy these expensive products so that you too can remain beautiful for many years to come. There are many effective products on the market – that don’t carry a hefty price tag. At the same time, if you want your skin to look good, you need to practice some common sense. Common sense solutions like these will help your skin take on the radiant glow of good skin health.

Make sure that your clothes, your sheets and even your pillow cases are clean. During the day, you will collect dirt and other materials in your pores which will be deposited into your sheets when you sleep. These toxins then, basically, just hang out on your linens and clothing waiting for the chance to climb back on to you. People should also change their apparel on a daily basis to avoid toxins too. Doctors that specialize in dermatology will always recommend a weekly change of your sheets and pillowcases. Even if you hate the idea of changing and washing sheets that often (though we worry about you if you do), you should at least change your pillowcase once a week.

Pay attention to your lips. The skin on your lips is extremely thin, which means you need to take additional steps and preventative measures to keep them from cracking. Your lips can be very healthy, protected even from UV radiation, if you use lip balm on them daily. Shiny lipstick and expensive lip balms are not necessary for protecting your lips effectively. Simple chapstick, if it has added in UV protection is usually all that you need. If you need affordable lip balm that actually works, Burt’s Bees is one of the best. Softlips Lip protectors with SPF 20 in them are another good choice (you can get two tubes for four dollars).

Avoid irritating your eyes. Common sense should tell you that using different creams on your body is not worth an effort and money. But you shouldn’t use the same cleanser or moisturizer that you use on, say, your arms on your eyes or face. Obviously, the skin on your body is most sensitive on your face, and near your eyes, so you need to be more careful in these areas. Use products that are designed specifically for the skin around your eyes when it comes time to cleanse in those areas. This location, specifically where your eyeballs are, needs to be given special attentiveness and consideration when applying anything in this area.

Curing skin care problems is almost always dependent upon your using common sense. Always remember that marketers peddling their products want your money and nothing more. Common sense is the one tool you need to have in large supply to really get the beautiful skin you’ve been looking for. The first step is to learn what you need to do.
