Windows 7 has five different theme sets and wallpapers based on different regions of the world. Your PC will come pre-loaded with the theme set for the area closest to where you live.
If you want to change your Theme set to something more exotic, it’s not hard to do so. Open Windows Explorer; click on your ‘C’ drive; type "globalization" in the search box; click on the result; type "MCT" in the search box, and the list of files will open. These files are "hidden" so you won’t simply see them listed. These folders will have all the geographic themes, as well as wallpapers, for different areas such as the UK, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Canada, and the US. Even though these files are hidden, when you know where to look you can easily change the look of your desktop from Themes already installed on your PC.
It’s always a good idea to have an extra copy of your operating system in case you ever have to re-install it, or install it on a remote computer somewhere.
Simply buy a flash drive (USB) that is large enough to hold your operating system and load Windows onto it. Then you will have a copy when the need arises. Whether you carry it around with you or keep it in your desk, it’s reassuring to know that you can always install Windows on any computer whenever you need to. The reason an USB Flash Drive is the best choice is because it loads faster than a disk or when downloading from a website.
